waterproofing and Moisure control

As long as there have been basements, there have been wet basements. Over the decades, many methods for mitigating water have been tried and discarded. Current state of the industry has not changed much, however, over the last ten to twenty years, as reliable methods for moisture control have been perfected.

Mitigating your basement's moisture problems involves an approach from three directions.

  1. Hydrostatic pressure that can push moisture up through your basement floor and through the walls must be relieved. Often this is enough to protect against flooding and puddling on the basement floor.
  2. hollow block walls must be drained to prevent damage to the integrity of the foundation. If the basement is to be finished, several methods for eliminating moisture from the wall surface are available.
  3. basement air must be circulated and replenished. Many basement waterproofers skip this step- leaving a basement that doesn't leak, but is still full of damp stale air, making it uncomfortable to live in.

With over 20 years experience, Nu-View technicians can apply the appropriate knowledge and expertise to your particular set of circumstances. Basements vary in their construction and function whether they are constructed of stone, brick or concrete.:
